This work aims to investigate some Thai medicinal plants in the Zingiberaceae and Acanthaceae families for anti-colon cancer treatment. The ten plants extracted by Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE), at temperature 1000C using methanol as a solvent, the plant extracts were evaporated to dryness (68.26 g) and fractionated by column chromatography, using a gradient solvent system of n-hexane-EtOAc, EtOAc, EtOAc-MeOH and MeOH with increasing amounts of the more polar solvents. Sub-fraction was subjected to two repeated column chromatography, eluted under isocratic condition following by sephadex LH-20, detected the chemicals constituents by H NMR and studied cytotoxicity on the Human colorectal adenocarcinoma cells. The results showed % cytotoxicity on the human colorectal adenocarcinoma cells in the range of 39.896-75.184%, the two of them exhibited in good results. The structure of the isolated natural product was elucidated by NMR techniques, confirmed its structure by extensive 2D NMR spectral analysis and MS. The results revealed the isolated compounds having the presence of cyclopentanopyran ring, corresponding to a C-9, the typical signals at δ 6.90 ppm. (H-3) and δ 4.06 ppm. (H-4) of iridoid skeleton. Further works will focus on some bioactive compounds for anti-colon cancer agents from the isolated pure compounds of these plants.
